Lands & Resources
The Lands Program has always been an integral part of the UCCM Tribal Council since its Incorporation in 1982. The Lands Program provides political advocacy services to its six member First Nations of the United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin.
The Lands Unit also provides technical and advocacy services on matters such as Aboriginal and Treaty Rights, Consultation, Land Claims, Research, Capacity Building, Community Development, Land Use Planning, Policy analysis, Legislative analysis and Administration.
In its advisory capacity role, the Lands Program, when required, provides assistance to the UCCMM Board of Directors, its Councils on issues of common interest.
